We are currently looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join the team in Maassluis .

As the Lead Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the development and maintenance of our platform, which serves as the backbone for our application software. You'll be leading a team of 7 engineers in delivering robust and secure solutions that meet the high standards of the organization. This role requires a balance of technical expertise and HR responsibilities, with a focus on personal development and engineering excellence.

Main responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 7 engineers, providing guidance and support in their personal development plans
• Drive the engineering efforts to design, develop, and maintain the platform, which serves as the foundation for the application software
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including suppliers, to ensure seamless integration of components and adherence to project timelines
• Utilize your expertise in C/C++, Linux OS, and processor architecture to architect and implement low-level software solutions
• Manage board support packages and ensure compatibility with both ARM and Intel architectures
• Oversee the implementation of CAN and Internet stack protocols, ensuring robust communication between components
• Maintain a strong understanding of security principles, including PKI, to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the systems
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between the team members, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
• Act as a liaison between the engineering team and the application software department, effectively conveying the value proposition of the platform to them

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a leadership role, with a strong focus on both HR and engineering responsibilities
• Expertise in C/C++, Linux OS, and processor architecture
• Familiarity with board support packages and experience working with both ARM and Intel architectures
• Proficiency in CAN and Internet stack protocols
• Strong understanding of security principles, including PKI
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with introverted team members
• Ability to effectively "sell" technical concepts and platforms to stakeholders
• Fluent in English; Dutch language skills preferable but not necessary
